Location: Manchester City Centre / Greater Manchester
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Flexible working, including evenings, weekends and participation in an on-call rota

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Supported Housing Manager to lead a new dispersed safe accommodation service supporting adult victims and survivors of domestic abuse with complex and intersecting needs, and their children where applicable.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager to play a key role in establishing and developing a high-quality, trauma-informed service that provides safe accommodation, intensive specialist support, safety and recovery work, and proactive move-on assistance.
You will provide visible, hands-on leadership and take overall responsibility for ensuring the service is safe, effective, person-centred and outcome-focused. You will lead a dedicated team, oversee complex casework and safeguarding, manage service performance and partnerships, and ensure residents receive the right support to rebuild their lives and move towards sustainable accommodation and greater independence.
The successful candidate will be confident managing high-risk domestic abuse and safeguarding situations and will bring a strong understanding of DASH assessments, MARAC, coercive control, trauma-informed practice and multi-agency risk management.

Key Responsibilities
As Supported Housing Manager, you will:

• Lead, motivate and develop a specialist team, ensuring high standards of practice and support.
• Create a psychologically safe and reflective working culture that promotes learning, professional curiosity and continuous improvement.
• Provide management oversight of complex and high-risk domestic abuse, safeguarding and MARAC cases.
• Ensure high-quality risk assessments, DASH assessments, safety plans, support plans and case records.
• Ensure support is trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally responsive and centred around survivor choice.
• Act as the service safeguarding lead, ensuring concerns are appropriately identified, recorded, escalated and managed.
• Oversee serious incidents, emergency arrangements, risk management and business continuity.
• Manage referrals, assessments, eligibility, placements, vacancies, waiting lists and occupancy.
• Develop strong relationships with local authority commissioners, police, MARAC partners, domestic abuse services, health, housing and other statutory and voluntary-sector organisations.
• Ensure every household has a clear and achievable move-on plan, with early intervention where barriers to move-on arise.
• Oversee housing management, rent and arrears, property compliance, health and safety, repairs and accommodation standards.
• Lead on contract performance, KPIs, audits, quality assurance, service reporting and improvement planning.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value for money and appropriate financial oversight.
• Ensure residents have meaningful opportunities to influence service development, recruitment, support and continuous improvement.
• Represent the service professionally with commissioners and external partners.
• Participate in an out-of-hours management/on-call rota and respond appropriately to serious incidents and service emergencies.

About You
We are looking for an experienced manager with a strong background in supported housing, domestic abuse, homelessness or another comparable service supporting people with complex needs. You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing and developing teams through supervision, reflective practice, performance management and learning.
• Strong knowledge of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, coercive control, stalking, trauma and the impact of intersecting needs on risk and safety.
• Expert knowledge of DASH risk assessments, safety planning and MARAC processes.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding adults and children, professional curiosity, information sharing and multi-agency escalation.
• Experience embedding strengths-based, person-centred, trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches.
• Experience of accommodation-based services, Housing Benefit, rent and arrears management, property compliance and move-on.
• Experience of contract management, KPIs, quality assurance, audits, risk management and service improvement.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and digital skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports and provide assurance to commissioners and senior leaders.
• The confidence to make balanced, timely and defensible decisions in complex and high-risk situations.
• A strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and culturally competent practice.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use, as the role involves working across dispersed accommodation.

Desirable Experience
It would be advantageous to have:

• Knowledge of Manchester's domestic abuse, housing, homelessness and safeguarding pathways.
• Experience of dispersed safe accommodation or domestic abuse services.
• Experience of service mobilisation and/or developing new services.
• Experience of co-production and working alongside people with lived experience.
• Experience of psychologically informed environments and supporting staff exposed to trauma and complex casework.
