As an HR Advisor in Manchester, you'll provide essential support across the Human Resources department in the not-for-profit sector. From advising managers to handling employee relations, you'll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly.

This role is within the not-for-profit sector, based in Manchester.

Description

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to managers on employment legislation, HR policies, procedures, and best practice across a broad range of employee relations matters.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redeployment programmes, redundancy consultations, and business transfer processes.
  • Coach and upskill managers on key people management topics, including performance management, capability, attendance management, and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused HR solutions.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, prepare management information and reports, and contribute to continuous improvements within HR service delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate potential people-related risks, providing constructive challenge and practical recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the People function, sharing knowledge, supporting team objectives, and promoting best practice.
  • Champion compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures, while undertaking any additional duties appropriate to the level and scope of the role.

Profile

A successful HR Advisor should have:

  • Experience in providing HR advice and guidance in a professional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using HR systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • A CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred.
