Crowe Watson Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading and highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in Manchester, as they look to appoint an experienced Corporate Tax Director to join their thriving tax team, offering flexible working, a strong company pension, and much more. As Corporate Tax Director, you will take ownership of the technical and commercial delivery of tax services, mentor and develop junior team members, and work alongside partners to drive business development and grow the firm's tax offering.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Tax professional to take on a senior leadership role within a firm that has built an excellent reputation across the North West. You will lead on complex corporate tax matters, working closely with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large corporate groups, while playing a key role in shaping the future direction of the tax department. This role offers a clear route to further progression for the right candidate, within a firm that genuinely invests in long-term career development.
What is the day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a varied portfolio of corporate tax clients, delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services
- Lead on complex tax planning projects, including restructuring, group relief, and R&D tax matters
- Support business development activity and build strong, lasting client relationships
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior members of the tax team
- Work closely with partners to help shape the strategic direction of the department
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified, with significant post-qualification experience in corporate tax
- Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Proven leadership and staff management experience
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike
