Ready to move beyond traditional practice?

Are you an accountant working within practice and looking for something more commercial, client-focused and forward-thinking? Do you enjoy understanding the story behind the numbers and helping businesses make better decisions?

We're partnering with a fast-growing, technology-led business that is transforming the way organisations approach financial planning, forecasting and decision-making. As part of its continued growth, the business is expanding its outsourced finance and advisory offering and is looking for an ambitious Advisory Accountant to join the team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make their first move from practice into a more commercially focused environment.

You'll work closely with a portfolio of clients, providing hands-on finance support while acting as a trusted advisor. Combining accounting expertise with commercial insight, you'll help businesses better understand their performance, plan for the future and make informed strategic decisions.

Unlike a traditional accounting role, you'll be encouraged to build strong client relationships, provide meaningful recommendations and actively contribute to business growth and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Lead month-end processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and meaningful reporting.
  • Partner directly with clients to understand their business objectives and financial challenges.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear commercial insights.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning activities.
  • Analyse financial performance and investigate key trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with scenario planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Work with financial models and data to support growth plans.
  • Deliver practical recommendations that help clients improve performance.
  • Collaborate with finance, technology and client service teams to enhance service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and best practice within a growing advisory function.
About You

You'll ideally come from a small or medium-sized accountancy practice and be looking to broaden your experience beyond compliance-based work.

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification in progress, or recently qualified.
  • Strong experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end activities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine interest in understanding how businesses operate.
  • Confidence presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach to problem-solving.
What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Commercially curious and analytical.
  • Friendly, personable and client-focused.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-growing environment.
  • Positive, ambitious and keen to develop their career.
  • Interested in the role technology can play in modern finance.
Why Apply?

This role offers a genuine opportunity to move beyond traditional accounting and into a commercial advisory position where you'll work directly with business owners and leadership teams.

You'll gain exposure to:

Management accounting and performance analysis

Business partnering and client advisory work

Forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling

Commercial decision support

Technology-enabled finance solutions

Career progression within a growing business

Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of growth, helping shape its advisory offering while developing your own career in a modern and entrepreneurial environment.
