Project Planner

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planner to play a key role in the successful delivery of a nationally significant rail project, helping to improve connectivity, capacity and reliability across the North of England.

The Role

As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, working closely with project management, engineering and design teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with key milestones.

You will provide critical planning support across project delivery, helping stakeholders understand programme performance, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project programmes and schedules.
  • Monitor progress against critical path activities and key milestones.
  • Produce planning reports and programme updates for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Support contract administration and programme requirements during tender and delivery phases.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to assess schedule impacts and delivery challenges.
  • Drive planning best practice and consistency across projects.

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:

 Experience developing and managing complex project programmes
 Strong understanding of project controls and planning methodologies
 Experience within rail, infrastructure, construction, engineering, or major projects environments
 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
 The ability to analyse project performance and identify delivery risks
 Experience using industry-standard planning software
