Project Manager - Civils

Location: Manchester / North West
Contract: Initial 8-month contract
Rate: £400–£450 per day

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead a significant civil engineering project in the North West. The scope of works will include bridges, tunnels, drainage and earthworks, so a strong technical understanding of civils is essential.

We’re looking for a civils-biased Project Manager with a background in civil engineering, rail or construction, and proven experience managing complex projects from delivery through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee major civils activities, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality delivery.

Manage project programmes, budgets and resources.

Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

Ensure works are delivered in line with health, safety and quality requirements.

Drive project performance and resolve issues effectively.

Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Construction Manager with strong Civils experience.

Background in Construction, Civil Engineering or Rail.

Experience delivering major civils projects, ideally involving structures, earthworks, drainage or tunnelling.

Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, programmes and project controls.

Hold your SMSTS

CSCS card – Black Manager/Professional level preferred.

PTS – desirable for candidates with rail experience.

Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
