Financial Controller - Manchester

Location: Manchester

We are partnering with a successful international business to appoint a Financial Controller to join its Manchester-based finance team.

Reporting to the CFO, you will take ownership of group financial reporting, statutory accounts, consolidation, audit and tax compliance across a number of UK and international entities. You will also lead and develop the financial accounts team and support the wider business with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare UK statutory and consolidated group accounts.

• Manage UK and international audit processes and statutory deadlines.

• Oversee corporation tax, VAT and other tax compliance.

• Manage group consolidation, intercompany balances and FX accounting.

• Support budgeting and forecasting with the CFO.

• Develop and improve finance processes, systems and controls.

• Lead, mentor and develop the financial accounts team.

• Provide financial analysis and support ad hoc projects.

About you:

• ACA or ACCA qualified.

• Strong statutory accounts and financial control experience.

• Experience with group consolidation and intercompany accounting.

• Good understanding of taxation and regulatory requirements.

• Experience working with UK and international auditors/advisers.

• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables.

• Commercial, detail-oriented and confident communicating with senior stakeholders.

• A proactive approach to improving processes and ways of working.
