Sales Engineer - Metrology Equipment

Location: UK - Scotland (Field-Based)
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Uncapped Commission + Company Vehicle

We are working with a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in advanced metrology equipment and solutions, supporting customers across manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and precision engineering sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Sales Engineer to develop new business, demonstrate metrology technology and manage sales opportunities through to completion.

This is a varied, customer-facing role combining technical sales, product demonstrations, business development and customer relationship management.

The Role

• Developing new business and identifying sales opportunities across the UK.
• Selling a range of CMMs, portable measuring arms, scanners and laser trackers.
• Demonstrating metrology hardware and software to prospective customers.
• Managing sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to demonstration and closing.
• Following up on office-generated and exhibition/show leads within your territory.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate metrology solutions.
• Working alongside technical teams to support demonstrations and customer requirements.
• Selling both new and demonstration equipment, accessories and associated software.

Products & Technology

• FARO / Romer portable measuring arms and FARO Focus scanners.
• CMMs and 3D scanners.
• Leica laser trackers.
• PMT CMMs, arms and scanners.
• Scanalogy and 3DeVOK scanners.
• PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, Aberlink, PMT Inspect and other metrology software.
• Wrap-style and Quick Surface software.

Full training will be provided on hardware and software that you are not already familiar with.

Requirements

• Experience within metrology, dimensional inspection, measurement or technical sales.
• Good understanding of metrology equipment and applications.
• Strong technical and commercial sales skills.
• Confident presenting and demonstrating technical products to customers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Company van during the 6-month probationary period, followed by a company car.
