Housing Solutions Officer

• Pay rate: £18.16 per hour per hr paye
• Location: Manchester City Council, Manchester, M60 2LA
• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3 months)

Manchester City Council are looking for a dedicated Housing Solutions Officer to join our team for a three-month period. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality support to service users, managing risks, and creating tailored plans that consider individual needs. The successful candidate will work closely with both statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure vulnerable residents of Manchester receive the support they need to actively contribute to the community.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver high-quality support to service users by managing existing and future risks through thorough assessment.
• Assist service users in engaging with support services provided by both statutory and voluntary agencies.
• Provide advice and expertise to partner agencies and stakeholders to promote the service and advocate for the rights and needs of vulnerable residents.
• Establish and maintain relationships with service users to challenge and alter existing patterns of behaviour.
• Work proactively with stakeholders to assess individual needs and ensure positive outcomes.
• Offer support and advice to service users, facilitating engagement with appropriate local and national services.
• Monitor, evaluate, and review assessments regularly to determine necessary adjustments, ensuring service users can achieve their agreed goals.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to produce plans that address individual needs and reduce vulnerability to risk.
• Promote service strategies within the organisation and to other statutory and voluntary agencies.
• Maintain active involvement with partner agencies and stakeholders by contributing to new initiatives that support independence and opportunities for vulnerable residents.
• Ensure all records, processes, and systems are up-to-date and maintained for effective data collection and performance management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a similar role within housing or social services.
• Strong understanding of the needs of vulnerable populations and the services available to them.
• Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including statutory and voluntary agencies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing trust and rapport with service users.
• Proven ability to manage and evaluate detailed assessments.
• Commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement.
• Experience in management duties and performance management is advantageous.
