Description

The Direct Procurement Manager will take ownership of allocated business areas and production lines and be responsible for/to:

• Manage the procurement of direct materials to meet business requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to optimise costs and value and strengthen long term growth.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships.
• Ensure procurement processes align with company policies and standards.
• Working with third party clients.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material needs and manage inventory levels, including for new products.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to avoid disruptions.
• Prepare and analyse procurement reports to support decision-making.
• Stay updated on market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Profile

The successful Direct Procurement Manager should have:

• Proven experience in procurement, particularly within the FMCG industry or similar.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
• Experience of working with and managing third party client relationships.
• Ability to analyse data and prepare actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• A proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Able to start a new role on relatively short notice.

Job Offer

• Salary ranging from £45,000 to £47,000 plus benefits, dependent on the level of experience.
• 12 month plus fixed-term contract position based in Manchester.
• Flexible approach to work, with hybrid working (2-3 days a week on site) and early finish on a Friday.
