Consula Group LTD

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and high-achieving school based in Manchester. With a strong ethos built around inclusion, ambition and the belief that every child deserves the very best start in life, this school is committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The school has a dedicated and passionate staff team and is led by a supportive senior leadership team that genuinely invests in the professional development and wellbeing of its people. This is a school where you will feel valued, supported and proud to come to work every day.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join the team and play a vital role in supporting pupils to reach their full potential. Whether you are working one-to-one with a pupil who needs additional support, assisting the class teacher with group activities, or helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, your contribution will make a genuine difference to the children in your care.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and wants to be part of a team that truly puts pupils first. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next challenge or someone who is newer to the role and eager to develop, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Working with individual pupils or small groups to provide targeted support, reinforcing learning and building confidence
  • Assisting pupils with additional needs, including SEND, EAL or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, in line with their individual education plans
  • Helping to prepare classroom resources, displays and learning materials
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and feeding back to the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils with personal care, behaviour management and social skills development where required
  • Contributing to a safe, positive and inclusive classroom and school environment
  • Attending staff meetings, training sessions and parents' evenings as required
  • Building positive, professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a warm, patient and proactive Teaching Assistant who genuinely loves working with children and is committed to making a positive difference every day. You will be someone who is adaptable, reliable and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils of all abilities and backgrounds.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting — desirable but not essential for the right candidate
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting children to achieve their potential
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to support pupils across a range of subjects
  • Experience of or an interest in working with pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach, with the resilience to work effectively in a busy school environment
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role

What Is on Offer

  • Salary of £28,000 – £33,000 per annum, depending on experience (term time only)
  • A supportive and inclusive school community where staff wellbeing is a genuine priority
  • Access to professional development and training opportunities
  • The opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of children in your community
  • A welcoming and collaborative staff team
  • Excellent facilities and a positive working environment
