Teaching Assistant - Year 6 Support

Salary: Dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a committed, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class in a welcoming primary school in Denton from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated education professional who enjoys working with upper Key Stage 2 pupils and is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

The Role

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support for pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom.

Working with pupils individually and in small groups to support progress.

Helping pupils prepare for their transition to secondary school.

Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.

Providing targeted support for pupils who require additional help.

Encouraging positive behaviour and creating a focused learning environment.

Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.

Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6.

A good understanding of the primary curriculum.

Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs.

A calm, patient and positive approach.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
