Tech Lead / Lead Developer

Fully Remote (UK) | Occasional team days in Manchester | 70 - 80k

We're looking for a Tech Lead to provide technical leadership across a promising engineering team. This role is less about being the person writing every line of code and more about creating an environment where great software is built by a confident, capable team.

The Role:

You'll work closely with 2 teams of developers to keep projects moving, remove technical blockers and provide clear direction across multiple workstreams.

Rather than taking work away from the team, you'll help them develop the confidence and skills to tackle it themselves. You'll mentor junior and mid-level developers, encourage best practice and help create a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

You'll still be technical:

• you'll review code,
• support architectural decisions,
• help scope projects and guide technical discussions

But your biggest impact will come through the people you lead.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing technical leadership across multiple development projects.
• Supporting and mentoring developers through technical challenges.
• Reviewing code and encouraging high engineering standards.
• Working with the Delivery Manager to estimate, prioritise and plan work.
• Helping developers find solutions rather than simply providing the answers.
• Improving development processes, coding standards and team practices.
• Contributing to architectural discussions and long-term technical planning.
• Creating an environment where developers can grow and produce their best work.

About You

You'll enjoy this role if you:

• Believe the best Tech Leads create successful teams, not dependencies.
• Have a strong background in PHP, Laravel and modern JavaScript frameworks.
