Location: North Manchester

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week | Fixed working days | Weekend Day Required

Salary: £27,000 + Monthly bonus Appox £250 p.m.

Experienced Optical Assistant

Are you an experienced Optical Assistant with strong product knowledge and the confidence to make genuinely helpful recommendations?

We are recruiting for a large, established optical practice in North Manchester. You will join a friendly, supportive team offering fixed working days, daytime hours and no late nights.

The practice is looking for someone who understands that a successful dispense starts with asking the right questions. You must be able to identify each patient’s lifestyle and visual needs before confidently recommending suitable frames, lenses, coatings and additional options.

The Role

• Welcoming patients and building strong relationships
• Understanding each patient’s lifestyle and visual requirements
• Confidently dispensing frames, lenses and coatings
• Making appropriate, needs-led product recommendations
• Explaining product features and benefits clearly
• Supporting pre-screening and the wider patient journey
• Working towards individual and practice targets
• Helping to reduce remakes through accurate, considered dispensing
• Supporting colleagues throughout the practice
• Delivering consistently high standards of customer service

About You

To be considered, you must have at least 12 months’ recent experience working within a UK optical practice. Applications without this experience will not be progressed.

You will also need:

• Confident optical dispensing experience
• Good knowledge of frames, lenses and coatings
• Experience working towards sales or ATV targets
• A warm, personable and customer-focused approach
• The confidence to recommend suitable products without over-selling
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive and supportive attitude
• Availability to work Saturdays
