Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is delighted to be partnering with an established and fast-growing technology business to recruit a Management Accountant.

Having built a strong reputation within its market over a number of years, the business is now entering an exciting phase of growth and expansion. As a result, they are looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a Management Accountant who will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or finalist (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) accountant looking to join a collaborative SME environment where they can take ownership of the month-end process, work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing development of the finance function.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Director, key responsibilities will include:

• Ownership of the end-to-end monthly management accounts process
• Preparing monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
• Producing variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Supporting cash flow reporting and financial planning
• Business partnering with departmental managers to provide financial insight and support decision-making
• Assisting with year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting as the business continues to grow

The Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or in the final stages of qualification
• Have recent experience producing end-to-end management accounts
• Be confident preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Have strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Be proactive and enjoy working within a growing SME environment
• Have excellent Excel skills and experience working with finance systems
• Be able to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced business
