About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Manchester.
This role is ideal for someone with experience managing a portfolio of clients who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and expanding firm. You'll work closely with a broad range of SMEs, providing high-quality accounting and tax services while becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.
You'll be given responsibility from day one, genuine opportunities for progression, and the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own portfolio of clients.
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts.
- Preparing Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns.
- Producing VAT returns and assisting with PAYE and payroll.
- Acting as the main point of contact for client queries via phone and email.
- Building strong, long-term client relationships.
- Ensuring client records remain accurate and up to date.
- Keeping abreast of changes to tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the practice.
To be considered, you should have:
- Around 1-3 years' experience in an accountancy practice or similar client-facing accounting role.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
- AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA.
- Experience using bookkeeping and cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
- Salary of £29,000 - £35,000, depending on experience.
