Storekeeper

• Location: Manchester City Council, Beswick, Manchester, M11 3FU
• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2-3 months)
• Pay Rate: £14.47 per hour (PAYE)

Manchester City Council are looking for a dedicated Storekeeper to support the operations of our Community Equipment Warehouse. This role is essential in maintaining a high-quality warehousing facility, focusing on storage, decontamination, recycling, and deliveries. The position is ideal for someone who is meticulous, organised, and committed to excellent service delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Maintain accurate records of assets within the warehouse, ensuring all stock levels are monitored and replenished as necessary.
• Effectively decontaminate and recycle returned equipment, adhering to all safety and health standards.
• Provide support to the transport contractor, including loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, ensuring that all items are stored and labelled according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation to ensure a secure workplace.
• Deliver a high-quality customer-focused service, responding positively and effectively to all customer interactions and ensuring that service deadlines and targets are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
• Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
• Ability to handle and decontaminate equipment safely.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety practices and legislation.
