2nd Line Support Engineer - Manchester

£32K | (5 days on-site)

A growing brand based in Manchester is looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their small but busy IT team. With dozens of sites across the UK and more opening every year, this is an exciting time to get involved.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary up to £32K
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Full funding for training and professional qualifications
  • Generous staff discount across venues
  • Company trips abroad and more

Key skills:

  • Proven experience in 1st or 2nd line support
  • Windows / Microsoft 365 support
  • Active Directory account administration
  • Some exposure to hardware support
  • Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking to non-technical stakeholders across the business, so the ability to explain concepts clearly is essential
  • A can-do attitude and genuine willingness to learn – technical gaps can be coached, attitude can’t

Day-to-day responsibilities:

You’ll be part of a close-knit team of 4 (soon to be 5), getting involved in a wide range of IT projects rather than being pigeonholed into one area.

No two days are the same – one minute you could be fixing a till at a venue, the next helping someone reset a password over the phone.

  • Support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, EPOS, printers, and peripherals
  • Diagnose and resolve Microsoft 365, Windows, and user account issues
  • Maintain and support Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy
  • Assist with server administration, patching, and system monitoring
  • Support telephony and communications systems
  • Liaise with third-party vendors for issue resolution and maintenance
  • Manage support tickets within agreed SLAs
  • Document fixes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Escalate major incidents appropriately

This is a great role for someone keen to upskill and looking for a business that will invest in their development.
