Paralegal - with a view to a Training Contract

Location: Manchester (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)

The Role
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Paralegal to join our International Home & Personal Care Legal team, supporting the EMEA and APAC regions.
This role has been designed with future development in mind and offers the opportunity to progress towards a Training Contract, subject to review after six months. Working closely with the Legal Counsel and wider business teams, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience across multiple areas of law including Commercial, Corporate, Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Employment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career as an in-house lawyer within a fast-paced, international consumer goods environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing and advising on a variety of commercial agreements including terms and conditions of sale, non-disclosure agreements, agency agreements and influencer agreements.
- Supporting the International and local Marketing teams with advertising and promotional activity, claims development, copy approval, influencer campaigns and related legal queries.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Finance, Product Development, HR and the wider Legal function on corporate, employment and intellectual property matters.
- Assisting with corporate secretarial activities across international legal entities, including entity maintenance, registrations, acquisitions and disposals.
- Supporting mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks while helping to implement effective internal controls.
- Conducting legal research and preparing guidance for stakeholders.
- Supporting the Brand Protection team on intellectual property matters.
- Assisting with legal administration, including management of external counsel fee estimates, invoice tracking and payment processes.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic and commercially minded legal professional who is eager to learn and develop within an in-house environment.
You'll thrive in a role where no two days are the same, enjoy building relationships across the business and be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Completion of LPC or SQE
- Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in developing a career as an in-house lawyer.
- Ability to quickly understand new concepts and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Positive, proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- Previous experience gained within private practice or an in-house legal environment.
