Job Description
We’re recruiting an Investment Analyst at AJ Bell to play a key role in shaping, evolving and managing AJ Bell’s discretionary portfolio offering.
This is a dynamic and highly analytical role where you’ll play a key role in designing, manufacturing, monitoring and maintaining AJ Bell managed Portfolios and funds.

We’re recruiting an Investment Analyst at AJ Bell to play a key role in shaping, evolving and managing AJ Bell’s discretionary portfolio offering.
This is a dynamic and highly analytical role where you’ll play a key role in designing, manufacturing, monitoring and maintaining AJ Bell managed Portfolios and funds.
In the role, you’ll support the Head of Investment Solutions in the maintenance of AJ Bell discretionary managed portfolios across the following areas{{:}}
- Product governance (IPS design and monitoring).
- Strategic and tactical asset allocation implementation.
- Capital markets assumptions reporting production.
- Working with Research function to devise appropriate portfolio implementation strategies.
- Development and production of investment management MI.
- Produce regular literature on a monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Provide reports (and attendance where appropriate) at departmental committees.
- Portfolio Implementation (Fund trading and model updates).
- Engage with other areas of the business to support the growth of both AJ Bell Investments and the wider business, and ensure portfolio updates are communicated to investors.
- Train, mentor and develop future departmental employees.
- Supporting and enabling the business to achieve its regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty.
Competence
- Previous experience in a similar analytical role, with experience working in the financial services and/or investment industries.
- Relevant Level IV QCF Qualification (or working towards in the short term).
- Working towards further qualifications in the longer term.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A highly innovative and forward-thinking mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced report writing and data storytelling abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
