The Role

We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to join a well-established and growing business based in Manchester. This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for managing the flow of customer demand through the supply chain and ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently and in line with customer commitments.

The position sits at the centre of the operation, acting as the link between customer service, sales, commercial and finance teams. The successful candidate will take ownership of the order life cycle, ensuring clear visibility of demand, effective coordination across teams and consistent delivery against service level expectations.

This is a highly visible role within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a critical function and work closely with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end flow of customer orders through the supply chain
  • Manage and maintain the order book, ensuring demand is accurately captured, tracked and fulfilled
  • Ensure supply chain performance consistently meets customer service levels, including OTIF targets
  • Act as the central link between customer service and the wider supply chain, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Identify risks to order fulfilment and take proactive steps to mitigate issues and protect service delivery
  • Oversee order processing activity, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely updates
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across sales, commercial and finance to align demand with delivery capability
  • Drive continuous improvement within order management and demand coordination processes
  • Produce and analyse performance reports, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Line manage and develop an office-based Supply Chain & Customer Service team (circa 4 direct reports), driving performance and engagement

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Degree or formal qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations or a related field
  • Experience working within a supply chain or supply management environment
  • Strong understanding of order flow, demand coordination and fulfilment processes
  • Experience in a customer-driven environment with service level agreements or delivery targets
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of activity
  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to managing processes and data
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a similar Supply Chain Manager, Supply Chain Coordinator or Planning role
  • Exposure to process improvement initiatives within supply chain or operations
  • Previous line management or team leadership experience
