Programme Manager - Manchester (Hybrid x2 days a week)

£85,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The Role

If you enjoy leading complex programmes in fast-moving, customer-facing environments, this Programme Manager role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.

You'll take ownership of a large-scale retail platform programme, aligning technology delivery with real-world operations, trading cycles, and business priorities. This is a role where you'll operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, driving outcomes, managing complexity, and ensuring delivery remains predictable and value-focused.

The Opportunity

This sits at the heart of a major transformation, where delivery needs to balance innovation with the realities of live retail environments. You'll work across multiple teams and disciplines, ensuring programmes are aligned to business goals, seasonal peaks, and regulatory needs.

You'll bring structure, clarity, and pace to a delivery landscape that spans multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and systems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading end-to-end delivery of a complex retail programme, ensuring alignment across technology, trading, and operations
  • Defining and managing programme roadmaps, timelines, and priorities in line with business and seasonal demands
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams including retail, compliance, payments, and engineering
  • Managing risks, dependencies, and resources across multiple delivery streams
  • Reporting progress and key insights to senior stakeholders, ensuring clear visibility of delivery outcomes
  • Driving improvements in delivery maturity, predictability, and flow-based metrics
  • Supporting both Agile and Waterfall delivery where required, ensuring the right approach is used for the context
  • Leading teams and vendors, creating alignment, and maintaining momentum across the programme

What You Bring

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale programmes within retail or regulated, customer-facing environments
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, trading cycles, and compliance-driven delivery
  • Experience across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
  • Ability to operate at senior stakeholder level while remaining hands-on when needed
  • A structured, outcome-focused mindset with strong problem-solving capability
  • Experience driving delivery performance through metrics and continuous improvement
