Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in South Manchester. This full-time role is available from September and offers the opportunity to become part of a supportive and inclusive school community committed to helping every pupil succeed.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress. This may include working on a one-to-one basis with a pupil, supporting small intervention groups, and adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
This role is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone looking to build a career supporting children with additional needs. The school is seeking a patient, nurturing, and proactive individual who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff. A calm, flexible, and empathetic approach is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, tailored to their individual needs
* Supporting learning across the classroom through differentiated activities
* Delivering targeted interventions and small group work
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Assisting with classroom preparation and adapting resources
* Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
* Supporting pupils' social and emotional development
To be considered for this role, candidates should:
* Have experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be patient, resilient, and adaptable in their approach
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
* Be able to provide satisfactory references
Salary: £95 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 month's experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. £100 per day for candidates who hold a level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 month's previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including, ASC, ADHD, SEHM or SLD
