Business Support Officer

Manchester City Council are looking for a Business Support Officer to join our team based at Philips Park Road, Beswick. This role is crucial for providing high-quality, customer-focused support, contributing significantly to the achievement of our service objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as a key member of the team, ensuring the provision of high-quality business support.
- Handle queries and correspondence efficiently and courteously, using tact and diplomacy with a wide range of internal and external customers.
- Use initiative and established procedures to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate within agreed timescales.
- Contribute to the accurate production of statistical data and other relevant information required for both statutory and non-statutory purposes.
- Effectively identify, interpret, and extract information from various sources, using analytical skills to provide meaningful information to both internal and external customers.
- Update and extract information from all management information systems accurately, including the retrieval and collation of reports to agreed standards.
- Procure, monitor, and maintain office stationery and equipment, ensuring changes are made in line with procedures, budgets, and agreed timescales.
- Contribute to the development, preparation, and review of all procedures and systems, aligning them to service needs and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the role of business support throughout the Council, providing cover and flexibility where required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a business support role within a busy office environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle queries efficiently.
- Strong analytical and information interpretation skills.
- Competence in using management information systems and producing reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team.
- A valid Standard DBS on the update service is required for this position.
- The role is fully office based
