Salary: £35,975 – £38,985 per annum + £3,000+ car allowance
Hours: 37 hours per week (self-managed schedule)
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and motivated Engineering Learning Coach to support apprentices within engineering maintenance programmes. This is a hybrid, field-based role where you will work closely with learners in their workplace, delivering coaching, assessment, and support to help them achieve their apprenticeship standards.
This role covers a wide geographical area from Cheshire to Yorkshire, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Coach and support apprentices working towards Engineering Maintenance qualifications
- Conduct workplace visits to observe, assess, and review learner progress
- Deliver high-quality, on-site coaching and mentoring
- Assess learners against apprenticeship standards and criteria
- Maintain accurate and timely records of learner progress
- Provide feedback and support to ensure timely completion of programmes
- Manage your own diary and workload effectively
You will support learners on the following apprenticeship standards delivered by Total People:
- Lead Engineering Maintenance Technician (Skills England)
- Engineering Manufacturing Technician (Skills England)
- Engineering Maintenance Technician – Dual Discipline (Skills England)
- Engineering Maintenance Technician – Single Discipline (Skills England)
- Previous experience within an education, training, or coaching role (essential)
- Strong engineering background, ideally within maintenance
- Understanding of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning
- Ability to build strong relationships with learners and employers
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
- Level 4 qualification (or above) in Engineering (preferred)
- Assessor qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Teaching / training qualifications will influence salary banding
