Intervention Support Assistant – SEN Primary School | Tameside | Full-Time | September Start

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and well-resourced SEN primary school in the Tameside area, seeking a dedicated Intervention Support Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially.

This specialist SEN primary school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, communication needs, and moderate to complex learning difficulties. You will be joining a highly supportive team of teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals who work collaboratively to provide the best possible outcomes for pupils. The Role

As an Intervention Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional academic, emotional, and behavioural support. You will deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 and small group support, and help pupils develop the skills and confidence needed to engage successfully within the classroom.

No two days are the same, making this a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and celebrating every achievement, no matter how small.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to support learning and development
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Support children with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and additional learning needs
  • Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the wider school team
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
