Role Description

This is an on-site, full-time position based in Manchester for the role of Deputy Manager. The Deputy Manager will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the residential care home, ensuring the well-being and safety of young residents. Responsibilities include supporting and mentoring the care team, monitoring compliance with organisational policies, maintaining care standards, and participating in the development of personalised care plans. The role also involves responding effectively to challenging situations to create a positive and nurturing environment for each young person.

Qualifications

• Leadership and team management skills, including mentoring and supporting staff
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies, regulatory compliance, and care standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for maintaining relationships with residents, families, and team members
• Experience in working with vulnerable young people or in a residential care setting
• Ability to handle challenging situations and promote a safe, positive environment
• Experience in creating and implementing personalised care plans
• A relevant qualification in Social Care, Youth Work, or equivalent (Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce or higher preferred)
• Full Driving licence
• Current knowledge of policies, regulations, and best practices in residential childcare
