The Role

We are recruiting a Project Controls Engineer / BI Reporting Analyst to join a major UK infrastructure programme delivering critical long-term asset resilience. This is a high-impact role responsible for owning and transforming the digital reporting landscape, converting complex project data into automated, real-time Power BI dashboards. You will act as a key data conduit between Primavera P6 and the central PMO, driving the move away from manual spreadsheets towards a robust single source of truth for senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Primavera P6 Data Integration: Develop and manage automated extraction of scheduling data from Primavera P6 (XER, XML, SQL).
• Power BI Data Modelling: Design and maintain scalable dimensional data models (star schemas). Integrate scheduling, cost, risk and progress datasets.
• Dashboard Development & Automation: Create advanced Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Deliver key Visual Insights: S-curves, Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, Critical path and Trend analysis.
• Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement: Manage weekly and monthly automated reporting cycles, ensuring timely delivery of insights for executive-level decision making.

Skills & Experience Required

• Project Controls Engineering on large scale programmes.
• Power BI development and data visualisation.
• DAX and data modelling.
• Ability to translate P6 outputs into meaningful reporting.
• Earned Value Management (EVM).
