Job Overview

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Senior Technology and Art Technician to join our dedicated team at Dean Trust Ardwick.

The core purpose of the role will be to to lead the technician team in the facilitation of effective course delivery across the Art and Technology Faculties.

Key Responsibilities

• The Technology & Art Technician plays a key role in helping students engage with practical subjects across areas such as Design & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Hospitality & Catering and Art & Design.
• In regards to Technology & Art based subjects, the Technician supports by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe working environment. Working closely with teaching staff, the technician assists in the setup and demonstration of equipment, tools and machinery, supports students during practical activities, and ensures compliance with health and safety standards.
• In regards to Food based subjects the Technician supports the delivery of lessons by preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• The technician assists in organising practical lessons, manages inventory and orders, and ensures compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
• This role requires strong organisational skills, creativity, a good understanding of materials/tools/equipment and a sound knowledge of health & safety procedures.
• The Senior Technology & Art Technician will have a further responsibility of managing the technician team, ensure health and safety compliance, support curriculum delivery, coordinate the setup of practical activities across subjects and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department’s resources and learning environment.
