We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electrician to join our Technical Services team at HMRC Manchester, M3 5DS, reporting directly to the Hard FM Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in delivering high-quality facilities management services across a regional cluster of sites. You’ll help ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
You’ll be the go-to person for electrical expertise, taking ownership of systems, collaborating with contractors, and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance—all while contributing to our Zero Harm safety culture.

- 5 out of 7 per week
- Service Times 07:00 - 19:00 Rolling Rota with an on call Rota
- £19.49 - £20.52 per hour

You’ll be the go-to person for electrical expertise, taking ownership of systems, collaborating with contractors, and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance—all while contributing to our Zero Harm safety culture.
What You’ll Do
Technical Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair across a wide range of building services and electrical systems including BMS, lighting, distribution boards, pumps, boilers, and more.
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance in line with service level agreements and statutory requirements.
- Support emergency maintenance and participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Work collaboratively with subcontractors to ensure compliance and quality of service delivery.
- Provide real-time updates via our CAFM system (Maximo).
- Assist in the delivery of minor projects and billable works.
- Operate within all legal, health, safety, and environmental standards (COSHH, fire safety, SSoW).
- Participate in risk assessments, audits, and implement improvements where necessary.
- Build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Represent Sodexo professionally across HMRC and customer sites.
- Be a proactive member of the team with flexibility to travel and adjust to the needs of multiple sites.
- Support the identification of cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor helpdesk tickets and ensure timely, compliant close-out to avoid financial penalties.
- Contribute to service improvements and contract performance.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- C&G Level 3 in Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar FM/technical services environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Fit, active, and capable of working in physically demanding environments.
- Experience with Maximo or EZMax CAFM system.
- Additional property maintenance skills.
- AP/CP experience in relevant disciplines (Electrical, Boilers, etc.).
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and subcontractor management.
- On-the-job training with experienced professionals
