About The Role
As a Machine Learning Engineer you will be involved in research and development of advanced Machine Learning algorithms at THG. Your focus will be researching state-of-the-art AI technologies and deep learning algorithms to provide practical solutions to the rest of the business. You will be strong in software engineering and have a track record of building production quality systems. You will also provide technical support to the team and the larger THG Data community with regards to data solution design and engineering, implementation of algorithms and experimentations seeing it through to production. This is a technical, hands-on role where you will write code, analyse and cleanse data and provide robust solutions to real business problems using the Data at your disposal.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver machine learning projects end-to-end from scoping to deployment ensuring alignment with business needs and timelines.
- Build and deploy high-quality, production-strength ML models and systems, including batch jobs, APIs, and pipelines using modern tooling (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP preferred).
- Write clean, reliable, and fault-tolerant code using Python and SQL, and champion best practices like code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Apply robust ML and statistical techniques (from classical models like Random Forest to state-of-the-art NLP and LLMs) to solve complex problems across multiple domains.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, ensuring technical solutions are well-communicated and drive real business impact.
- A strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, data modelling, and software architecture.
- Solid hands-on experience in Python and its ecosystem (Jupyter, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib), and comfort working with SQL for data analysis. Experience with LangChain is a plus.
- Experience of delivering AI and ML-based products into production environments, with an understanding of both model evaluation and productionisation challenges.
- Expertise in statistics, hypothesis testing, sampling techniques, and anomaly detection, along with experience applying predictive modelling and regression analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and guide cross-functional teams through ML solution delivery.
