Senior Payments Adviser - Co-op Business Services (CBS)
£25,570 - £26,500 plus great benefits (Work Level 6C)
Manchester City Centre, in this role you'll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and the office at least twice a week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

We're looking for a Senior Adviser, specialising in payments to join our Finance Transformation Project team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day'.


In this role you'll be supporting the wider back-office treasury and AR cash teams, while also contributing to the successful transition to SAP. You'll support the team by managing returned payments, dealing with queries & solving bank account discrepancies.. This is an exciting opportunity to make a key contribution to the success of CBS and our broader mission of delivering value to our member-owners every day.

What you'll do


* Prepare payment files to ensure accurate and timely transactions
* Process card payments
* Follow up on returned payments
* Investigate bank account discrepancies when flagged by the Sales to Cash team
* Process cancelled cheques
* Reach out to internal colleagues with payment queries
* Respond to audit requests, particularly from Ernst & Young, providing necessary information and support

This role would suit people who have


* Experience of working within finance or payments teams
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to be comfortable dealing with large volume of transactions
* A willingness to develop their learning within this area of business
