As an Anti-Stalking Advocate you will:

  • providing expert support to victims of stalking
  • work closely with stakeholders to embed knowledge and understanding of the impact of stalking on individuals, families and communities.
  • complete initial assessments of risk and need, completing an S-DASH with each service user, devising safety and support plans and liaising with appropriate agencies, ensuring a holistic and trauma-informed approach to service user engagement;
  • provide advice, guidance and information regarding stalking legislation to internal and external stakeholders as well as service users;
  • provision of service user support adhering to all national legislation as well as organisational policy and procedure;
  • proactively developing knowledge and skills relevant to the role, sharing learning and supporting the training of volunteers, staff, current and prospective participants in the PTMWA portfolio

To be successful as an Anti -Stalking Advocate you will need:

  • A formal qualification in gender-based violence eg ISAC or IDVA or willing to complete in post
  • A working knowledge of the civil and criminal justice system, housing, welfare and policy relating to stalking and domestic abuse
  • An excellent working knowledge of risk assessments, risk management and safety planning in stalking and in DVA
  • A thorough and demonstrable knowledge of case management systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of typologies of DVA/stalking perpetrators, including how their motivation affects risk
  • Knowledge of group work programme design and delivery
