What's the role?
International Business Developer – Data Centres – Manchester/London/Cardiff (home-based with UK and international travel)
The International Business Developer (IBD) is a strategic, technical and project development role, forming part of the global Hilti Business Development community. As the International Business Developer, you will proactively develop business opportunities through a selected portfolio of existing key accounts within the global energy industry.
As the International Business Developer, you will form strategic alliances with your customers, develop and implement tailored strategies, and establish Global Frameworks and Service Level Agreements. Here, you will focus on Data Center owner accounts and projects across Europe, to ensure Hilti is a trusted partner from design to execution. You will also collaborate and communicate across multiple teams, including Hilti Large Projects organization, Engineering community and Legal teams.
You will autonomously initiate and manage the project development pipeline, by understanding what generates value in a customer’s mind through Hilti’s technical expertise in the Data Centre industry, identifying and prioritising specifiable applications, supported by the Hilti technical team, and collaborating with Hilti senior management and team members to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

What does the role involve?
- You will strategically identify and develop accounts to maximize Hilti’s partnership and market penetration with Global Data Centre Colocation/Multi-tenant owners, while working closely with architects, consultants, and contractors involved in the client projects.
- Here, your main targets will be account standardization, project specification, sales development (direct or indirect) and multi-level relationship management.
- Winning new business and developing existing accounts through research and networking, you will develop the strategy of each account, own each account‘s global project pipeline, and lead its global implementation through Hilti and Oglaend counterparts.
- You will be responsible for bringing market intelligence inputs to the global teams to inform corporate segment strategies, maintain effective communication throughout the team and company, and acts as single owner of assigned accounts.

- Strong technical business development and sales experience for specified engineering products/services or technical solutions.
- Outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, ability to identify, understand and deliver solutions based on value proposition.
- Data center industry experience, especially in owner, architect or PMC environments would be highly advantageous.
- An Engineering Degree with Business acumen would also be advantageous.
- Ability to develop multi-level customer contacts also at C-level and stakeholder management, with excellent presentation skills.
- Strong project management experience across complex organisations, multiple teams and geographies, with the ability to involve, influence and drive strategic topics.
- Ability to act independently and craft own strategic direction in a structured manner.
