Operational Excellence Specialist

Hybrid Working.

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

Role Purpose

We are looking for an Operational Excellence Specialist who is a results-oriented, data-driven professional with deep expertise and extensive experience in the Source-to-Pay (S2P) domain.

The position plays a key role in leading transformative initiatives that enhance process efficiency, drive operational excellence, and elevate both internal and external customer experiences. The successful candidate will champion change by leveraging systems, data, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable improvements in performance and value delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic contributor to high-impact projects led by the Global Process Owner (GPO) organization
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement and other key stakeholders to optimize the end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) process through effective stakeholder engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across functions to foster collaboration and deliver innovative, value-driven solutions
  • Identify, support, and lead process re-engineering and continuous improvement initiatives within Accounts Payable operations in the Shared Service Center.
  • Analyze data to uncover improvement opportunities, develop hypotheses, validate solutions, and manage change implementation with minimal business disruption
  • Utilize existing tools and methodologies to efficiently manage and track continuous improvement efforts
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through best practice sharing and proactive, hands-on leadership

Key Requirements

  • Strong functional expertise and understanding/interest in end-to-end business processes
  • Strong S2P tools knowledge (SAP, Ariba, OCR)
  • Strong analytic skills and tools knowledge (Power BI], Excel)
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Ability to structure complex action plans that account for the end to end dependencies of their specialist process.
  • Ability to create and conduct presentations and trainings effectively

Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people. For us, this is not only a great privilege, but also a great responsibility. How we achieve our business results is just as important as the achievements themselves. At Lonza, we respect and protect our people and our environment. Any success we achieve is no success at all if not achieved ethically.

People come to Lonza for the challenge and creativity of solving complex problems and developing new ideas in life sciences. In return, we offer the satisfaction that comes with improving lives all around the world. The satisfaction that comes with making a meaningful difference.
