Engineering Manager
(Their team is .NET based)
Location: Manchester (2 - 3 days a month in the office).
Salary: £65,000 – £85,000 depending on experience.
Are you an experienced line manager with a passion for helping engineers grow and teams thrive? A leading technology company is looking for a Non-Technical Engineering Manager to support the success and development of two highly collaborative engineering teams. This is an opportunity to work in a purpose-driven organisation that combines modern engineering practices with a strong people-first culture.
You will be managing a team of 8-16 direct reports, who are all technical staff.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- // Managing and mentoring engineers, helping them set and meet meaningful goals.
- // Ensuring team members receive timely feedback and are supported in their growth.
- // Leading effective hiring and onboarding for your teams.
- // Supporting hybrid working practices and fostering psychological safety.
- // Collaborating with peers across Product, Delivery, and Engineering to drive improvement.
- // Shaping inclusive hiring processes and career development structures.
- // Championing a values-driven and transparent work culture.
We’re looking for someone who:
- // Has experience managing engineers in software teams.
- // Is skilled in coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- // Has an ability to scale technical teams.
- // Enjoys helping others grow and develop their careers.
- // Can quickly grasp technical contexts and advocate for team needs.
