As a Domestic Abuse Worker (Referral Line), you will:

  • Work with individuals who have experienced domestic violence and abuse through the provision of practical and emotional support
  • To answer all incoming calls regarding referrals and enquiries and act as first point of contact
  • To assess the needs of service users ensuring their safety at the point of contact
  • To upload all referrals onto Oasis and attempt contact within 48 hours
  • To complete initial DASH assessments of risk where appropriate.
  • To provide advice on housing, safety, and civil options where appropriate
  • Ensure all relevant case management has been completed on time; case notes, DASH, service user information etc…
  • To assist with the Drop In Service when necessary
  • To assist any service user coming to the Pankhurst Centre for domestic abuse related support.
  • To report any safeguarding concerns to the relevant Line Manager
  • To work to Leading Lights standards

To be successful as a Domestic Abuse Worker (Referral Line) you will need to:

  • Have a minimum of GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Having a relevant professional qualification such as NVQ in Health and Social Care would be advantageous
  • Have experience of carrying out risk assessments, needs assessments, and support planning
  • Have experience of group development and group facilitation
  • Have an excellent level of understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on individuals and families
  • Have a good level of knowledge of statutory and legal provisions for people experiencing domestic abuse, as well as welfare benefits, housing options or other appropriate support services
  • Be an excellent communicator both written and spoken and be an empathetic, confidential, team player
  • Have excellent levels of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
