(PPM / Maintenance) Location: Manchester Pay Rate: £14.50 – £16.00 per hour (DOE) Start Date: Immediate Duration: Ongoing
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Plumber to join a secure prison project in Manchester , working on a long-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in accordance with specifications and scheduled works packages
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified plumber with a strong background in facilities maintenance to work within a professional and safety-conscious team
Key Responsibilities: Carry out routine and non-routine plumbing maintenance
Perform fault finding and provide effective solutions
Identify and report life-expired equipment
Check, repair, and replace plumbing systems as needed
Complete inspections, water sampling, and risk assessments
Conduct mains water supply repairs
Adhere strictly to health and safety standards and method statements
Minimise material waste and promote efficient working practices
Ensure all statutory maintenance tasks are completed on time and are fully compliant
Requirements: NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent)
Full UK Driving Licence
Gas Safe Registration (essential)
Legionella Control (L8) certification
Experience with Maximo or similar maintenance management systems
Competent in the use of light plant equipment
Comfortable working at height and in all weather conditions
What We Offer: Competitive hourly rate: £14.50 – £16.00 (negotiable depending on experience)
