What will you be responsible for?
will collaborate closely with ML Engineers, ML Ops Engineers and stakeholders to define project objectives, implement cutting-edge ML models or AI solutions, and ensure the continuous improvement of algorithms that directly impact the company's bottom line. This position requires a strong understanding of ML techniques, team leadership, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation across multiple business domains. Some of the recent projects include building CX Support multi-agent, HITL system with MCP/tool calling capability to automate a large part of CX processes and developing fraud solutions resulting in multi-million pounds savings.
About The Role
The ML Manager (Operations) leads multiple squads covering Fraud, CX and Logistics. You will lead a cross-functional team focused on leveraging machine learning to enhance business operations. The role involves overseeing the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions to detect and prevent fraud, improve customer experience (CX) through intelligent agentic support systems, and optimise logistics processes for efficiency.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of machine learning professionals, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Define and drive the machine learning strategy, aligning it with business objectives and priorities.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning projects, from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
- Guide the team in building, training, and deploying machine learning models and systems.
- Ensure best practices in model development, including data preparation, feature engineering, and model validation.
- Establish and refine workflows for the deployment, monitoring, and scaling of machine learning models.
- Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, with a track record of successfully developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment which has evolved into leading a team.
- Experience in using and implementing classical Machine Learning algorithms (e.g. Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost, etc.) as well as state-of-the-art research area (e.g. NLP, Transfer Learning etc.) and modern Deep Learning algorithms (e.g. BERT, Llama, InstructBLIP, LLMs etc.)
- Expertise in complete end to end ML solution development lifecycle and Knowledge/Experience in building applications using LLMs and using composable framework i.e. Langchain.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (GCP preferred) and good working knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes as well as CI/CD pipelines. Any exposure to bash scripting, react, html is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects/workstreams, stakeholder engagement, defining technical roadmap and establishing technical strategy in line with the strategic business direction.
