As part of continued growth, my client is seeking a committed and experienced Head of Family Law to lead the family department, with a particular focus on private law matters.The Role:This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior family solicitor to step into a leadership position while continuing to manage a purely private law caseload. Your work will include high-value and complex matters such as divorce and separation, financial remedy cases, private children law disputes, pre-nuptial agreements, and cohabitation issues. You'll also be responsible for shaping the future of the department and leading a small, capable team.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Family Law department, overseeing team performance and growthManage a full, self-sustained caseload of private family law matters from instruction to resolutionMaintain and enhance client relationships through excellent legal advice and serviceSupport business development and contribute to the department's strategic directionEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold firm-wide quality standardsRequirements:Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 8 years' PQE in Family LawDemonstrable experience handling a private family law caseload independentlyStrong leadership or supervisory experience in a legal settingExcellent communication, client care, and organisational skillsCommercial awareness and a proactive, hands-on approach to department growth
