We are recruiting for a talented Health & Safety Manager to join our Facilities Management Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take control and lead on creating a safety first culture here at Co-op Live! You will be developing new processes, policies and ways of working, driving incredible performance through team training so we stand out from the crowd. This role is pivotal in keeping everyone safe and creating an awesome experience for our people, fans and artists.

This is a truly exciting opportunity to be part of an outstanding team, developing new processes, policies and ways of working and driving incredible performance. You will ensure regulatory compliance and industry requirements are met to create amazing shows.

This role focuses on leading and promoting a culture of best practice and safety, while operationally supporting event delivery across all business departments.

As a Health & Safety Manager you will -

  • Through the development and implementation of processes, policies and training ensure the venue, and its facilities are maintained in a safe, reliable, efficient and effective way for all our people, fans & artists and local community
  • Be present at events to champion Health and Safety
  • Support the Operations Team and Heads of departments in the development of a robust Health & Safety strategy which puts our fans, artists, colleagues, and community first. Shaping and executing effective safety management, working with all relevant departments.
  • Champion, lead on and comply with all health and safety regulations and safe working practice as required by current legislation and the company’s health and safety policy and practices.
  • Lead with the development and implementation of auditing and compliance monitoring both during and outside of events.
  • Drive operational excellence, developing positive health and safety culture in all departments through the implementation of processes and policies.
  • Directly monitor the performance of the maintenance, safety and cleaning departments, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Ensure KPIs are monitored, and contracts are commercially beneficial and provide exceptional service.

Salary £45,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

Safety is so important to us here at the Arena, therefore due to the specialism of this role, we are looking for those with industry experience working as either a Health & Safety Advisor or a Health & Safety Manager along with the following -

  • NEBOSH or relevant H&S Qualification
  • Level 4 Spectator safety management qualification
  • Health & Safety Management experience within a large entertainment venue or crowded space
  • An infectious can-do approach to provide the UK’s best venue through a H&S lens
  • Thrive when its buzzing and show resilience, taking control, making decisions, and leading from the front
  • A team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment
  • Experience leading Health & safety in a public-facing venue and ensuring it’s a safe and well-maintained operation
