Paralegal - Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss Team - Manchester office

We are looking to recruit a Paralegal for the Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team into the Manchester office.

The successful candidate will work in a small team dedicated to dealing with a number of the UK's largest insurer clients and will report directly to the Team Leader in respect of day-to-day tasks. The team currently enjoys hybrid working, 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

Your role will involve everything from taking clients' instructions, drafting witness statements, obtaining expert's reports, instructing Counsel, bundles, drafting letters of advice and representation and any general admin duties.

The aim is to give our clients, brokers and insurers a fantastic service, getting the right outcome in every claim.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You will be a highly determined individual able to adapt well within a demanding, fast-paced team.
• Ideally, you will have experience in personal injury litigation.
• You will enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding your knowledge.
• You will be focussed on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements.
  
  
  

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take responsibility for:

• Working with all members of the team and you will be exposed to a variety of work, but predominantly acting on behalf of a range of insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations.
• Assisting and handling a varied caseload.
• Carrying out investigations, taking witness statements, reviewing and interpreting medical records and medical reports.
• Reporting to and liaising with clients to achieve the best outcomes.
• Complying with client SLAs and MI requirements.
• Proactive and strategic file management, including adhering to court timetables.
• You will support the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business, and maintaining relationships with clients using technical excellence and innovation.
• Drafting of all legal documents and client advice.
• Dealing with interlocutory proceedings, CCMCs and client meetings.
