Associate Director – Change Delivery
This is a Senior Leadership position, responsible for the successful delivery of the Markerstudy Change Portfolio, as well as for oversight of Head of Change Delivery roles and their teams.
This is a hybrid role and can be based from either of our Manchester, London, Southport, Stoke-On-Trent, Peterborough or Portsmouth offices.
Typical Accountabilities:
Change Portfolio Oversight
- Ensure the Markerstudy Change Portfolio is delivered safely and efficiently, through an appropriate number of Programmes and Projects.
- Oversight and line management of Head of Change Delivery roles and their teams.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Change Strategy and the Head of PMO to design and regularly update the Portfolio composition and hierarchy.
- Monitor the Markerstiudy Change Portfolio Performance against agreed KPIs, taking corrective actions as appropriate.
Stakeholder Management
- Form strategic relationships with internal & external stakeholders at Board Level, C-suite level and below.
- Form strategic relationships with peers in the Change Leadership Team, establishing clear lines of responsibility between ‘Change Strategy’, ‘Change Delivery’ and ‘PMO’.
- Support Head of Change Delivery roles and their teams in the removal of blockers, and the resolution of escalations.
Assurance
- Accountable for ‘first line’ Quality Assurance for the Change Portfolio, Programme and Project deliverables.
- Collaborate with the PMO function to design, implement and continuously improve Quality Assurance processes.
- Make informed decisions in line with delegated authority limits of project spend, invoice approval, gate movements.
Risk & Issue Management
- Work in partnership with the Head of PMO to ensure Risk Management Strategies are executed to identify and resolve Portfolio level / Thematic Risks and Issues.
- Work in partnership with the Head of PMO to ensure dependencies between Portfolios are identified and managed.
Process Improvement
- Set direction and design improvements to delivery processes, frameworks and tooling to reduce change delivery cycle time and costs. Monitor progress if those improvements with the Heads Of roles.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the Change Function.
Other
- Deputise for the Chief Change Officer as and when required.
- Own continuous professional development, staying current with industry developments & innovations.
- Encourage, support and coach other team members across the function in their own development.
- Undertake other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required in line with the role level.
Skills & Experience:
- Leading and managing complex Change Portfolios (£25m+)
- Leading and developing Heads of Functions and Programme Managers
- Delivering Complex change in a related industry e.g. Financial Services, Retail, Technology
- Experience in managing and communicating to stakeholders at all levels (C-suite and below)
- Experience in a range of Delivery Methods (e.g. Waterfall / Agile at scale) to safely and efficiently deliver change
- Formal Portfolio / Programme / project management qualification(s)
- Experience in the Insurance Industry (advantageous but not essential)
