Description
- Design and implement strategies for applications to move into the Azure Cloud.
- Monitor and maintain systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the software engineering team to integrate new deployments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide rapid solutions.
- Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
- Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability.
- Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation.
Profile
A successful Devops Engineer should have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Azure Devops Engineer or similar software engineering role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby.
- Knowledge of Devops tools like Jenkins.
- Experience with Azure cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Understanding of open-source technologies.

Skills and Experience:
Hybrid role 2 days onsite in the Manchester office - salary upto £63K + Bens
Foundational knowledge of DevOps, preferably certified or looking for certification
Experience of working in an Agile framework, preferably in a Scrum and/or scaled scrum environment
Strong knowledge and insights into key concepts of cloud technologies including CI/CD, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. A certification in Azure or AWS would be desirable
Able to build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Actions
Experience with Docker and container orchestration toolchain, preferably within the context of Microsoft Azure, i.e. using Azure Kubernetes Service
Able to help in effectively bridging the gap between teams in IT and trying to eliminate silos, encouraging a highly collaborative one-team attitude. Willingness to engage with staff in all IT teams to promote DevOps practices and principles, and to share knowledge with others and contribute to building a DevOps community of practice.
Ability to take ownership of features ranging from services on PaaS/IaaS, deployment automation/configuration and orchestration tooling
Ability to build and manage various components of digital infrastructure focusing on continuous integration, test automation, automated software releases, configuration management and system management in a high availability cloud environment.
Good skills and experience in config management and infrastructure toolsets - Such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins.
Data driven mindset to harness actionable metrics
Extensive experience working with the Microsoft technology Stack
