Senior/Associate Building Surveyor – Manchester | Full-Time | Commercial & Insurance Projects


Are you an experienced Building Surveyor ready to take on a varied and rewarding role in a growing consultancy? A respected multidisciplinary firm is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join their dynamic Manchester-based team, supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial and insurance-related projects across the region.

What You'll Be Doing:



  • Conduct building inspections and provide technical advice on design, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and construction

  • Undertake acquisition surveys, defect investigations, condition reports, and measured surveys

  • Prepare professional reports, schedules of work, and technical specifications

  • Manage large-scale projects independently, delivering high-quality consultancy services

  • Administer building contracts in line with current industry standards

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including CDM 2015, Party Wall, Building Regulations, and planning laws

  • Support and mentor APC candidates, contributing to team knowledge and development

  • Maintain a professional approach to client service, communication, and project delivery


What We're Looking For:



  • MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor (or equivalent qualification)

  • Strong consultancy experience with broad technical knowledge across commercial property types

  • Proficiency in defect diagnosis, report writing, and contract administration

  • Familiarity with insurance-related repair work (preferred)

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget

  • Knowledge of statutory requirements and construction-related legislation

  • Methodical thinker with strong analytical and IT skills

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally as needed
