Academy Manager (9-12 months FTC)

Reporting to: Head of Education 

Location: Manchesterwith some required travel to Reading and Ireland Academies

About the role: 

We are seeking an Academy Manager to join us on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Education and the Training Team to deliver a premium training experience across our Manchester, Reading, and Ireland programmes for all attending professional delegates.
You will be responsible for ensuring high academy utilisation and the efficient daily operation of all training venues and activities, helping to maximise business opportunities through the Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to customer and delegate enquiries (phone and email) to drive successful training and event bookings.
  • Maximise attendance at training sessions by working with the Head of Education and Marketing to highlight courses and their USPs.
  • Track event budgets and ensure all sessions stay within agreed cost limits.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation, catering, and hospitality for external trainers and delegates, ensuring premium standards and catering for all dietary requirements.
  • Manage AV, IT, and facility readiness, including basic equipment testing, building maintenance, fire safety, and delegate hosting across all sites.
  • Support Academy events by coordinating resources, assisting delegate arrivals, and providing on-site customer service to delegates and models.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting professionalism, integrity, and diligence at all times.
  • Promote the Academy’s offerings by maintaining up-to-date content across all platforms, ordering promotional materials, and aligning activities with the overall marketing plan.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to support new course and event launches.
  • Manage smooth facility hire processes, including diary management, client communication, event support, and building relationships with industry contacts.
  • Represent the company at industry expos, promoting products, services, and seasonal offers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet departmental goals and maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products and procedures.

Requirements: 

    • Previous experience in running academy and training events.
    • Organised and efficient.
    • Able to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines.
    • Effective team player who can lead where necessary.
    • Client focused with excellent communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, with a positive can-do attitude.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence internal and external parties.
    • Proven communication skills and confident telephone manner.
    • Excellent email writing skills.
    • Excellent time management capability.
    • Flexible and adaptable.
    • Microsoft Office, Powerpoint and Excel experience
    • General IT troubleshooting skills:
      • Printers, AV, projectors, presentations, lighting, cameras and sound
