Berkshire Talent Partnership are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s fastest growing Independent Power Producers and Developers. The business builds, owns, and operates flexible energy infrastructure to help balance the grid, supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.
The business is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a hybrid role three days a week in the office and two days working from home and would suit a QS with 1-3 years experience within construction, power or infrastructure. Working within the commercial team and reporting to the commercial manager you will deliver both pre and post contract surveying duties on a range of renewable projects with values from £30m to £400m. The business is growing rapidly but has a supportive culture and you will be able to develop your career as quickly as you wish. Key responsibilities below.
- Contribute to the preparation of cost feasibilities, approximate estimates, cost planning, bills of quantities, specifications and schedule of rates all in accordance with relevant standards.
- Preparation and administration of procurement advice, tenders, tender reviews and advice.
- Preparation and administration of various contract forms to both consultant and contractors.
- Preparation and administration of interim valuations, contractors’ claims and settlement of final accounts.
- Preparation and updating of standard cost databases and profiles.
- Assisting in the preparation of effective change control during the pre-contract stages and post-contract stages.
- Assisting in the preparation of contract variations to review with senior staff.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reviews as directed.
- Preparation of interim valuations throughout the life of a project.
- Assisting in the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Assisting in the preparation of contract and dispute advice.
- Assisting senior members of staff in their role as Employer’s Representative and/or Contract Administrator.
- Reviewing the cost information prepared by senior staff and identifying any errors for correction.
- Support the creation, update, forecast and coordinating project costs and resource usage models and predictions.
- Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
- Work closely with the project manager, commercial manager and project QS to maximise the potential of the project.
- Documenting and maintaining records.
