This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in driving component- and system-level reliability improvements across complex electronic systems.
You'll work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure products meet rigorous standards in reliability, certification, and compliance, supporting both UK-based development and international manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead reliability planning and testing for components and systems in accordance with standards such as JEDEC, Telcordia, MIL-STD-810, GR-63, and GR-1086

  • Conduct failure analysis and fault investigation, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design and production lines

  • Oversee and influence reliability standards in design, validation, and manufacturing processes

  • Support internal teams and external suppliers in meeting EMC, safety, and other compliance benchmarks

  • Participate in supplier audits and collaborate with the quality team on procurement reliability

  • Support certification efforts and help shape the overall approach to reliability engineering within the business

  • Contribute to cross-functional project reviews and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a reliability-focused engineering role

  • Background in electronics, systems engineering, or high-reliability environments

  • Familiarity with standards and processes used in military, automotive, or large-scale telecoms systems

  • Experience with complex systems rather than biomedical or consumer electronics

  • Strong understanding of failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective/preventive action

  • Confident working hands-on in a manufacturing or lab environment and influencing production improvements

  • Must be based in or around Cambridge, and open to occasional travel to Poland (maybe a couple of times during your contract period)

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Informal video or phone chat with Engineering Lead

  • Stage 2: Technical presentation + 1:1 interviews with team
(Presentation brief will be provided in advance)

Why Join?

  • Work on genuinely cutting-edge communications technology

  • Immediate impact with the opportunity for potential contract extension

  • Rapid interview and decision-making process

  • Join a technically sharp and collaborative team focused on real-world delivery
