Stanton House

Chief Financial Officer, Technology-Led Consultancy Group

Private Equity-Backed (Lower Mid-Market)

Birmingham (Hybrid, Flexible Working)

£150,000 - £180,000 + Equity

Stanton House is exclusively partnering with a leading private equity fund to appoint a commercially driven CFO for a growing portfolio business in the technology consulting space. This company delivers high-impact services in app development, digital transformation, and strategic resourcing to an expanding client base across the UK.

Now entering an accelerated phase of growth, the business is deploying a buy&build to consolidate the fragmented market, targeting synergistic acquisitions and aiming for a significant uplift in EBITDA over the next 24 months.

This role will suit a high-calibre CFO with a background in IT services, data, digital consulting, or professional services, who brings deep experience in M&A execution, finance transformation, and exit preparation within a private equity setting.

The Role:

You will be a true partner to the CEO, delivering financial and strategic leadership across a multi-entity group. With strong backing from the PE sponsor, you’ll guide the business through a critical phase of growth, including the onboarding of new acquisitions, scaling operations, and driving profitability.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own the financial strategy for M&A, from deal screening and due diligence through to post-acquisition integration and value delivery.

  • Lead the consolidation of newly acquired businesses into group reporting, systems, and culture.

  • Rebuild and optimise the finance function to support scalability and performance.

  • Mentor the current Head of Finance, ensuring they evolve into a confident and capable Finance Director.

  • Enhance processes, controls, and systems to create a future-proof operation that supports agile decision-making.

  • Set the financial foundations to maximise valuation and enable a successful exit in 2027/28.

  • Prepare investor-ready packs, drive EBITDA enhancement, and lead key exit workstreams.

About You:

  • A proven CFO or senior finance leader with a track record of success in PE-backed, lower/mid-market businesses, particularly within tech-enabled services or consultancy.

  • Experienced in executing multiple acquisitions, integrating teams, and building group-wide visibility.

  • Operationally hands-on, commercially astute, and a confident leader with strong mentoring skills.

  • Comfortable navigating the demands of a fast-moving, investor-led environment.

Location & Flexibility

Headquartered in Birmingham with a collaborative team culture, the role offers high flexibility around hybrid working and travel. You should ideally be Midlands-based or open to a commutable arrangement.
