Are you an experienced leader with a track record of managing strategic partnerships and driving business growth? We are seeking an accomplished Account Director to oversee the relationship with key suppliers and lead a high-performing Supplier Account Management team.


As the Account Director you’ll be responsible for building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with high-value suppliers, ensuring satisfaction with the services provided, and identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen partnerships.


You’ll lead a team of two Strategic Account Managers, ensuring exceptional service delivery while achieving mutual growth objectives.


Key Responsibilities for the Account Director:



  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and development of two Strategic Account Managers.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for high-value suppliers, fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with C-suite executives and decision-makers.

  • Understand supplier business goals and challenges, aligning strategies to meet shared objectives.

  • Develop and implement account strategies to drive revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and strategic initiatives.

  • Lead contract renewals, renegotiations, and discussions to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure account success.

  • Represent the business at conferences, exhibitions, and public forums, enhancing brand awareness and promoting services.

  • Ensure supplier retention by proactively addressing challenges and fostering satisfaction.

  • Monitor team performance and actively contribute to a culture of high standards and continuous improvement.


Key skills Account Director:



  • Experience within the utilities industry.

  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.

  • Results-driven, with a commitment to delivering quality work on time.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an engaging presentation style.

  • Proactive in sharing knowledge and seeking opportunities for personal and team development.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Confident in using internal systems and databases to monitor and track performance.

  • Awareness of industry trends and best practices.
